The Kenya NCSA team visited the Kwetu Home of Peace Rescue Centre which rescues young boys from the streets. They focus on boys who are 8 to 14 years. There are 26 boys in number. The center trains them and helps to integrate them back to the community. The team was led by Philly Maruti. The team spoke to the boys on the theme of hygiene and personal cleanliness. The talk was centered on grooming the boys using Christian values to make them presentable and excellent individuals within the society. They also played games and had snacks with the children.

The session started with prayer led my Philly Maruti as he prayed for Gods guidance and protection throughout the session.

The meeting then proceeded with a brief session of introductions where the team members introduced themselves after which, Mr. Philly reminded them about the NCSA and its mission to impact the youth.

Mr. Philly discussed about the previous meeting, which was about Drugs, he reminded them of reasons why people take drugs, the dangers of taking drugs and the ways to overcome taking drugs. Then the boys also participated in the interactive session during which they were shared their lessons from the previous week’s session.

The topic of the day was hygiene and personal cleanliness. Mr. Samson took the boys through the presentation.

He begun by defining what Personal hygiene is, the general cleanliness of the body and the surrounding environment.

He also talked about the various ways of maintaining personal hygiene; which included, showering regularly with clean water and soap, shaving their hair, cutting fingernails short, washing clothes, cleaning the toilets and many others.

Then he talked about the advantages of personal hygiene which included respect from the society, looking responsible, and feeling fresh, and keeping the body healthy.

He emphasize their bodies being the temple of the Holy Spirit and hence they should take good care of their bodies. He also shared examples of when God visited the Israelites in the wilderness and performed a great miracle, He asked them to prepare and clean for He loves clean and holy environments which enable Him to work His miracles.
